Dialogic Weather! Snow
“Dialogic Weather! Snow” is a dialogic integrated science picture book, complete with dialogic prompts, that introduces how snow forms in clouds. The story begins with a cloud forming from mist. Then the wind blows dust up into the cloud. The mist freezes around the dust and forms hexagons. As the mist continues to freeze, the remainder of the snowflakes form and the snowflakes fall to the ground. The activities at the end of the book include a craft project, movement, and a song. “Dialogic Weather! Snow” is rich in promoting language arts via dialogic prompts that may include vocabulary expansion, letter recognition, word opposites, rhyming patterns, recall, reading comprehension, counting, and more.
